Removal and Replacement

BRAKE PEDAL

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT".

2. REMOVE AFS ECU





3. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.





4. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
(a) Remove the clip and push rod pin.
(b) Separate the brake master cylinder push rod clevis from the brake pedal sub-assembly.





5. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the stop light switch connector and disengage the 2 clamps.





(b) Remove the 4 nuts, bolt, and the brake pedal support assembly.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the brake pedal support assembly with the 4 nuts and the bolt.
Torque:
Nut 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
Bolt 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)





(b) Engage the 2 clamps and connect the stop light switch connector.





2. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
(a) Apply the lithium soap base glycol grease to the push rod pin.
(b) Connect the brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake pedal sub-assembly with the push rod pin and a new clip as shown in the illustration.





3. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
(a) Install the brake pedal return spring.

4. INSTALL AFS ECU
5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT".
