REPLACEMENT
HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed are for the LH side.
^ A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. REMOVE WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 10 bolts and wheel hub ornament.
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
a. Remove the 5 nuts and wheel.
3. DISCONNECT SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the speed sensor wire.
4. DISCONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE LH
a. Remove the clip and nut.
b. Using SST, disconnect the upper suspension arm from the steering knuckle.

5. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the shock absorber from the shock absorber bracket.
b. Loosen the piston rod lock nut.
NOTICE: Do not remove the lock nut.
c. Remove the 3 nuts, spring support reinforcement and shock absorber with coil spring.
d. Remove the suspension support No. 1 from the shock absorber with coil spring.
6. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING LH
a. Using SST, compress the coil spring.

NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the SST.
b. Remove the piston rod lock nut.
c. Remove the front suspension support, front coil spring insulator upper and front coil spring.
7. INSPECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
a. Compress and extend the shock absorber rod. Check that there is no abnormal resistance or unusual operation sounds.
If there is any abnormality, replace the shock absorber.
NOTICE: When disposing of the shock absorber, see DISPOSAL.
8. INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING LH
a. Install the front coil spring insulator upper to the suspension support.
HINT: Match the bolt of the suspension support with the cut-out part of the front coil spring insulator upper.
b. Using SST, compress the front coil spring.

NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the SST.
c. Install the front coil spring to the shock absorber front. Fit the lower end of the coil spring into the recess of the spring seat of the shock absorber.
d. Install the front suspension support to the rod.
e. Temporarily install a new lock nut.
f. Align the suspension support and absorber bush as shown in the illustration.
g. Tighten the lock nut.
Torque: 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the shock absorber rod.
h. Release the coil spring while checking the position of the suspension support.
9. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Install a new front suspension support No. 1 to the shock absorber with coil spring.
b. Temporarily install the spring support reinforcement and shock absorber with coil spring with the 3 nuts.
c. Temporarily install the shock absorber to the shock absorber bracket with the bolt and nut.
HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the bolt.
10. TEMPORARILY CONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE LH
a. Connect the front suspension upper arm LH to the steering knuckle LH.
b. Temporarily install the nut.
HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nut.
11. CONNECT SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH
a. Connect the speed sensor wire with the bolt.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
12. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
a. Lower the vehicle.
b. Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension.
13. TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Tighten the 3 nuts labeled A.
Torque: 56 Nm (570 kgf-cm, 41 ft. lbs.)
b. Fix the nut labeled C and tighten the bolt labeled B.
Torque: 157 Nm (1,600 kgf-cm, 116 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Do not tighten nut C.
14. TIGHTEN STEERING KNUCKLE LH
a. Tighten the nut.
Torque: 87 Nm (890 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.)
b. Install a new clip.
15. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
a. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
16. INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
17. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
