Rear Suspension
REPLACEMENT
HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed are for the LH side.
^ A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. REMOVE WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 10 bolts and ornament.
2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
a. Remove the 5 nuts and wheel.
3. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the bolt and nut from the rear suspension arm No. 2 LH.
b. Remove the nut and stabilizer link from the stabilizer bar.
4. INSPECT REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. As shown in the illustration, move the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times before installing the nut.
b. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn and take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Turning torque: 0.05 to 1.0 Nm (0.5 to 10 kgf-cm, 0.4 to 9 inch lbs.)
5. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR
a. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts, and disconnect the exhaust pipe.
b. Remove the 8 bolts and rear end body mounting set plate.
c. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 stabilizer bar brackets and stabilizer bar from the suspension member.
d. Remove the 2 bushes from the stabilizer bar.
6. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR
a. Install the 2 bushes to the stabilizer bar.
b. Install the stabilizer bar to the suspension member with the 2 stabilizer brackets and 4 bolts.
Torque: 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs.)
7. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the stabilizer link to the rear suspension arm No. 2 with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar with the nut.
Torque: 30 Nm (305 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.)
c. Install the rear bumper side extension with the 8 bolts.
Torque: 56 Nm (570 kgf-cm, 29 ft. lbs.)
d. Connect the exhaust pipe with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.
Torque: 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.)
8. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
a. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
9. INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
