Replacement









REPLACEMENT

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
5. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT




6. REMOVE VANE PUMP PULLEY
a. Using SST, remove the nut and vane pump pulley.

SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000)

7. REMOVE GENERATOR
a. Disconnect the generator connector.
b. Remove the rubber cap and nut, and disconnect the generator wire.
c. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire bracket.

d. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and generator.

NOTE: If the stud bolt of the nut is loose, replace the stud bolt.




8. INSTALL GENERATOR
a. Install the generator with the 2 nuts and bolt.

Torque:
39 N.m (398 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) for bolt and nut A
15 N.m (153 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf) for nut B

b. Connect the engine wire bracket with the bolt.




9. INSTALL VANE PUMP PULLEY
a. Using SST, install the vane pump pulley with the bolt.

SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000)

Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)

10. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
11. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER
12. INSTALL V-BANK COVER

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET
14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
15. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
