Door Side Airbag Sensor:

DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR

REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION
Refer to Air Bag Systems; Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL
5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW UPPER BRACKET GARNISH LH
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH




7. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH
a. Disconnect the airbag sensor connector.

NOTE: Disconnect the connector with sensor assembly installed.

b. Remove the 2 nuts and airbag sensor LH.

8. INSTALL DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH
a. Install the airbag sensor with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the airbag sensor connector.

9. INSPECT DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LAMP
