- Be sure to follow the procedure detailed below when deploying the airbag.

HINT: Prepare a battery as the power source to deploy the airbag.

a. Check if the SST is functioning properly (see step 1-(a)).
b. Remove the horn button.

CAUTION:
- When removing the horn button, work must be started 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF and after the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- When storing the horn button, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

c. Using a service wire harness for the vehicle, tie down the horn button to the disc wheel.

Wire harness: Stripped wire harness section
1.25 sq.mm or more (0.0019 sq.in or more)

CAUTION: Do not use a wire harness that is too thin or any other substitute item to tie down the horn button. It may snap when the airbag deploys. Always use a vehicle wire harness that has an area of at least 1.25 sq.mm (0.0019 sq.in).

HINT: To calculate the area of the stripped wire harness section:
Area = 3.14 x sq.Diameter / 4

1. Install the 2 bolts with washers into the 2 bolt holes on the horn button.

HINT:
Bolt:
L: 35.0 mm (1.378 in.)
M: 6.0 mm (0.236 in.)
Pitch: 1.0 mm (0.039 in.)

NOTE:
- Tighten the bolts by hand until they become difficult to turn.
- Do not tighten the bolts excessively.

2. After connecting SST below to each other, connect them to the horn button.

SST 09082-00802 (09082-10801, 09082-30801)

3. Using 3 wire harnesses, wind each wire harness at least twice each around the bolts installed on the left and right sides of the horn button.

CAUTION:
- Tightly wind the wire harness around the bolts so that there is no slack.
- Make sure that the wire harness is tight. If there is slack in the wire harness, the horn button may come loose when the airbag is deployed.

4. Face the airbag deployment side of the horn button upward. Separately tie the left and right sides of the horn button to a disc wheel through the hub nut holes. Position the SST connector so that it hangs downward through the hub hole in the disc wheel.
