Parking Brake Pedal: Service and Repair






REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 1
4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the parking brake release cable.





c. Remove the lock nut and adjusting nut.
d. Remove the clip.





e. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, pull out the parking brake cable No. 1 and remove the control pedal.
5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE RELEASE CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the screw and switch.
7. REMOVE PARKING PEDAL PAD
8. INSTALL PARKING PEDAL PAD
9. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Install the switch with the screw.
10. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE RELEASE CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY





11. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the cable No. 1 to the control pedal with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 19.1 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the clip for the cable No. 1.
c. Temporarily install the adjusting nut and lock nut.
d. Install the release cable with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
e. Connect the switch connector.
12. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
13. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE
14. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
a. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
15. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
16. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
