Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3

REPLACEMENT

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the parking brake cable No. 2 and No. 3.
^ The procedures listed are for the parking brake cable No. 3.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
3. REMOVE REAR DISC
4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT LH
5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET
6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO. 1
7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.2
8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH





9. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the cable from the backing plate.
10. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER
11. REMOVE RR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LOWER LH
12. REMOVE RR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LOWER RH
13. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
14. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
15. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR NO. 1
16. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE HEAT INSULATOR





17. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the cable from the vehicle body.
b. Disconnect the cable from the clamp.
c. Disconnect the cable from the intermediate lever, and remove the cable.
d. Remove the 2 brackets from the cable.
18. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Install the 2 brackets to the cable.
b. Connect the cable to the intermediate lever.
c. Connect the cable to the clamp.
d. Install the cable to the vehicle body with the 3 bolts.
Torque:
18.6 Nm (190 kgf-cm, 19 ft. lbs.) for bolt A
5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.) for bolt B
19. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE HEAT INSULATOR
20. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR NO. 1
21. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
22. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
23. INSTALL RR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LOWER RH
24. INSTALL RR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LOWER LH
25. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER





26. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Install the cable to the backing plate with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 inch lbs.)
27. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE
28. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH
29. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.2
30. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO. 1
31. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET
32. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT LH
33. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION
34. INSTALL REAR DISC
35. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE
36. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
37. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
a. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
38. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
39. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
40. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS
