Initial Inspection

INSPECTION




1. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY
a. Check operation of the mirror.

HINT: This inspection should be performed indoors.

1. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 6(IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (GND).
2. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1(EC+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (EC-).
3. Attach black tape to the forward sensor.
4. Press the AUTO switch, and check that the indicator lamp illuminates.
5. Shine a flashlight on the mirror, and check that the mirror surface changes from bright to dark.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.







2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.
OK:
If the operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.







3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
a. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.
OK:
If the operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
