Front Bumper: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE
a. Remove the 3 bolts and radiator grille.




3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH
a. Remove the 5 screws and partially remove the front fender liner.

HINT: It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper cover can be removed in step (5).

4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.




5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
a. Remove the 6 screws and 4 clips.
b. Apply protective tape under the front fender.
c. Detach the claws and remove the cover.
d. Disconnect the 2 fog lamp connectors.
e. Disconnect the 2 front marker lamp lens connectors.
f. Disconnect the headlamp cleaner hose.

6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER MOULDING
a. Remove the 6 screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the moulding.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




7. REMOVE HEADLAMP CLEANER WASHER NOZZLE LH
a. Remove the clamp.
b. Using a screwdriver, pull out the washer nozzle.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

8. REMOVE HEADLAMP CLEANER WASHER NOZZLE RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

9. REMOVE HEADLAMP WASHER ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the headlamp washer actuator from the headlamp cleaner hose.
b. Remove the 2 clips, bolt and headlamp washer actuator.

10. REMOVE HEADLAMP WASHER ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

11. REMOVE HEADLAMP CLEANER HOSE
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the clamps and remove the hose.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

12. REMOVE FOG LAMP UNIT LH
13. REMOVE FOG LAMP UNIT RH
14. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER LH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the hole cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

15. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

16. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE MOULDING OUTER LH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the moulding.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

17. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE MOULDING OUTER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

18. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE MOULDING INNER LH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the moulding.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

19. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE MOULDING INNER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

20. REMOVE FRONT MARKER LAMP LENS LH
21. REMOVE FRONT MARKER LAMP LENS RH
22. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET
a. Remove the 2 bolts and mounting bracket.




23. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the side retainer.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

24. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

25. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER
26. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT
a. Remove the 6 bolts and reinforcement.

27. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER MOUNTING BRACKET
a. Remove the 6 screws and mounting bracket.

28. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT
a. Install the reinforcement with the 6 bolts.

Torque: 58 N.m (590 kgf.cm, 43 ft.lbf)

29. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
30. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
