Rear Suspension Arm Assembly No.2 LH
REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 LH
REPLACEMENT
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
3. SEPARATE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR
a. Place matchmarks on the height control sensor link sub assembly rear and rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH.
b. Remove the nut and separate the height control sensor link sub-assembly rear.
4. SEPARATE REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the nut and separate the rear stabilizer link assembly LH.
5. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 LH
a. Remove the lock nut.
b. Using SST, separate the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH.

c. Remove the bolt, washer, nut and rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH.
6. INSPECT REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 LH
a. Before installing the nut, flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a torque wrench, continuously turn the nut 3 to 5 seconds per turn, and take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 0.5 to 3.4 Nm (5.0 to 35 kgf-cm, 4.4 to 30 inch lbs.)
If there is any abnormality, replace the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH with a new one.
7. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 LH
a. Temporarily tighten the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH and washer with the bolt and nut.
b. Install the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH rear axle carrier side with the lock nut.
Torque: 70 Nm (720 kgf-cm, 52 ft. lbs.)
8. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the rear stabilizer link assembly LH to the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH with the nut.
Torque: 65 Nm (660 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)
9. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR
a. Align the matchmarks on the height control link sub-assembly rear and rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH.
b. Install the nut.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
10. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
11. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
12. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.2 LH
a. Fully tighten the rear suspension arm assembly No.2 LH with the nut.
Torque: 90 Nm (920 kgf-cm, 67 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Jack up the rear axle, placing a wood block to avoid damage. Apply load to the suspension so that the rear suspension arm No.2 is horizontally positioned.
13. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
14. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
15. ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT (AIR SUSPENSION)
16. ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
