Rear Suspension Arm Assembly No.1 LH
REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
REPLACEMENT
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
a. Remove the lock nut.
b. Using SST, separate the rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH.

c. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and differential support protector No.2.
d. Remove the bolt, nut and rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH.
3. INSPECT REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
a. Before installing the nut, flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a torque wrench, continuously turn the nut 3 to 5 seconds per turn, and take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 0.5 to 3.4 Nm (5.0 to 35 kgf-cm, 4.4 to 30 inch lbs.)
If there is any abnormality, replace the rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH with anew one.
4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
a. Temporarily tighten the rear suspension arm assembly No.1 LH with the bolt and nut.
b. Install the rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH with the nut.
Torque: 70 Nm (720 kgf-cm, 52 ft. lbs.)
5. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
6. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY NO.1 LH
a. Fully tighten rear suspension arm assembly No. 1 LH with the bolt.
Torque: 90 Nm (920 kgf-cm, 67 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Jack up the rear axle, placing a wood block to avoid damage. Apply load to the suspension so that the rear suspension arm No.2 is horizontally positioned.
b. Install the differential support protector No.2 with the bolt and 2 nuts.
7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
8. ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
