Replacement
REPLACEMENTHINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
1. PRECAUTION (See Restraint Systems; Service Precautions.)
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
7. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH
8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER LH
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the front seat belt retractor cover LH.
10. REMOVE WIRING HARNESS PROTECTOR NO.2
a. Disengage the 2 clamps.
b. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the wiring harness protector No.2.
11. REMOVE SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the connector from the side airbag sensor assembly LH.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and the side airbag sensor assembly LH.
12. INSTALL SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Check that the ignition switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
CAUTION: After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
c. Install the side airbag sensor assembly LH with 3 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
NOTE:
- If the side airbag sensor assembly LH has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the side airbag sensor assembly LH, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
d. Connect the connector to the side airbag sensor assembly LH.
e. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the side airbag sensor assembly LH.
13. INSTALL WIRING HARNESS PROTECTOR NO.2
14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER LH
15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
16. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the system shown in the table after the terminal is reconnected.
17. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
