Replacement
REPLACEMENTHINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
1. PRECAUTION (See Restraint Systems; Service Precautions.)
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
b. Remove the 8 bolts and the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
HINT: Remove the bolts from the front side of the vehicle in order.
5. INSPECT CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSEMBLY LH
6. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with the 8 bolts.
HINT: Install the bolts from the rear side of the vehicle in order.
Torque:
Bolt A: 11 Nm (112 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf)
Bolt B: 14 Nm (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the connector to the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
7. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
8. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the system shown in the table after the terminal is reconnected.
9. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
