Steering Control Module: Service and Repair
POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLYREPLACEMENT
1. PRECAUTION (See Restraint Systems; Service Precautions.)
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
5. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT PLATE
6. REMOVE CHOKE KNOB HOLE COVER
7. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY W/INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.2
8. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the power steering ECU connector and head lamp swivel ECU connector.
b. Remove the 2 nuts.
c. Remove the power steering ECU with the bracket and headlamp swivel ECU.
If necessary, disconnect the connectors placed around the power steering ECU and headlamp swivel ECU.
d. Remove the power steering ECU from the bracket.
9. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
a. Install the power steering ECU to the bracket.
b. Install the power steering ECU with the bracket and head lamp swivel ECU.
c. Tighten the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
d. Connect the power steering ECU connector and head lamp swivel ECU connector.
If you disconnect the connectors placed around the power steering ECU and headlamp swivel ECU in step 8, reconnect them.
10. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY W/INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.2
11. INSTALL CHOKE KNOB HOLE COVER
12. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT PLATE
13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
14. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
15. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
17. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
