Operation Check
OPERATION CHECK1. ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
a. Illuminated entry system controls the following:
- Key cylinder lamp
- Room lamp assembly No.1 (Front dome lamp)
b. Check that the lamps come on after:
1. Unlocking any door that was closed and locked with the ignition switch off.
c. Check that the lamps fade out after:
1. Leaving the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
2. Turning the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.
3. Locking all the doors.
d. Check that the lamps stay on for at least 15 seconds after opening any of the doors, then fade out again after 15 seconds.
e. Check that the lamps come on after:
1. Closing all the doors and turning the ignition switch off from the ACC or ON position.
f. Check that the lamps fade out after:
1. Leaving the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
2. Locking all the doors.
g. Check that the lamp stay on for at least 15 seconds after opening any of the doors, then fade out again in 15 seconds after closing all the doors.
h. Check that the lamps come on when opening any of the doors and fade out after either closing and locking them or turning the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.
2. REAR DOME LAMP OPERATION CHECK
a. Rear dome lamp controls the following:
- Interior lamp rear LH and RH
b. Check that the interior lamp rear LH comes on when the rear door LH is opened. Then check that the interior lamp rear LH fades out when the rear door LH is closed.
c. Check that the interior lamp rear RH comes on when the rear door RH is opened. Then check that the interior lamp rear RH fades out when the rear door RH is closed.
3. OVERHEAD CONSOLE ILLUMINATION OPERATION CHECK
a. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position, and check that the center console spot illumination in the overhead J/B comes on.
b. Turn the ignition switch off, and check that the center console spot illumination in overhead J/B goes off immediately.
4. STEP LIGHT AND INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION OPERATION CHECK
a. Check that the lamps come on when unlocking any of the doors that are closed and locked with the ignition switch off. Then check that the lamps fade out under the following conditions:
1. Leave the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
2. Lock all the closed doors and turn the ignition switch off.
b. Check that the lamps stay on for at least 15 seconds under the following conditions before going off under the conditions as shown in (a).
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and adjust the shift lever to the P position.
2. Open any of the doors.
c. Check that the lamps dim before going off when turning the ignition switch to the ON position and shifting into any position other than P under the conditions as shown in (a).
d. Check the conditions below before the lamps go off under the conditions as shown in (b).
1. The lamps dim when shifting into the position other than P and closing all the doors with the ignition switch on.
2. The lamps come on for 15 seconds and fade out when shifting into the P position and closing all the doors with the ignition switch off.
e. Check that the lamps come on after opening any of the doors.
f. Check that the lamps fade out in 15 seconds after closing all the doors, or locking all the doors.
g. Check that the lamps come on gradually with the ignition switch on and the shift lever in the P position.
h. Check that the lamps dim when shifting from P into another position with all the doors closed.
i. Check that the lamps stay dimmed with the ignition switch on and the shift lever in any position other than P.
5. LIGHT AUTO TURN OFF OPERATION CHECK
a. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and switch the headlamp into the TAIL or HEAD position.
b. Turn the ignition switch off and open the driver's door, and check that the headlamps go off after approximately 30 seconds.
c. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and switch the headlamp to the TAIL or HEAD position.
d. Turn the ignition switch off and open the driver's door. Before the headlamps go off after approximately 30 seconds, lock all the doors. Check that the headlamp go off immediately.
6. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION CHECK
a. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
b. Turn the headlamp dimmer switch to the AUTO position.
c. Cover the automatic light control sensor and check that the taillamp and headlamp come on in order.
d. Uncover the automatic light control sensor and check that the headlamp and taillamp go off in order.
7. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT OPERATION CHECK
a. Check that the high beams come on when the headlamp switch is off, the engine is running, the shift lever is in the position except P, and the parking brake is released.
b. Check that the high beams go off when turning the headlamp dimmer switch into the TAIL or HEAD (LOW) position under the condition as shown in (a).
c. Check that the high beams go off when turning the ignition switch off under the condition as shown in (a).
8. AFS OPERATION CHECK
a. Check that the initialization (determination of the initial position) of the leveling motor and swivel motor is performed at engine-start.
b. Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is in ON position.
c. Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assembly comes on when the AFS OFF switch is pressed.
d. Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assembly goes off when the AFS OFF switch is not pressed.
