Power Mirror Control System

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY







a. Select "L" or "R" on the left/right adjustment switch.
Measure the switch resistance.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.




b. Measure the left/right adjustment switch resistance.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.







c. Measure the retract switch resistance.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.







d. Measure the clearance sonar switch resistance.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.







2. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH
a. Measure the switch resistance.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.







3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the mirror connector.
b. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.







c. Apply battery voltage and check the mirror retract operation.

NOTE:
- Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
- The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. If you wish to change the mirror position manually, disconnect the battery first before doing so.

If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.







4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
a. Disconnect the mirror connector.
b. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.







c. Apply battery voltage and check the mirror retract operation.

NOTE:
- Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
- The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. If you wish to change the mirror position manually, disconnect the battery first before doing so.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.







5. INSPECT MIRROR POSITION SENSOR
a. Check the voltage.
1. Apply voltage to the terminals with a battery and a dry cell battery, as shown in the table.
2. Measure the voltage while the mirror moves between the fully turned downward position and fully turned upward position.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.




3. Measure the voltage while the mirror moves between the fully turned to the left position and fully turned to the right position.




Standard (right side mirror):
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.




Standard (left side mirror):
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
