Rear Speed Sensor

REAR SPEED SENSOR

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL





2. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR
a. Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.
b. Remove the bolt and rear speed sensor.

NOTICE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

INSPECTION
1. INSPECT REAR SPEED SENSOR
a. Inspect the rear speed sensor. If any of these occur, replace the rear speed sensor with a new one:
^ The surface of the rear speed sensor is cracked, dented, or chipped off.
^ The connector or wire harness is scratched, cracked, or damaged.
^ The rear speed sensor has been dropped.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR
a. Install the rear speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 inch lbs.)

NOTICE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

b. Connect the speed sensor connector.
2. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
a. Install the rear wheel.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
3. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
