Front Speed Sensor
FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for 4WD)COMPONENTS:
REMOVAL
HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
a. Disconnect the front speed sensor connector.
b. Remove the bolt and front speed sensor.
NOTICE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR
a. Inspect the front speed sensor. If any of these conditions occur, replace the front speed sensor with a new one:
^ The surface of the front speed sensor is cracked, dented, or chipped off.
^ The connector or wire harness is scratched, cracked, or damaged.
^ The front speed sensor has been dropped.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR
a. Install the front speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 inch lbs.)
NOTICE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
b. Connect the front speed sensor connector.
2. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
3. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
