Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL




2. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER COVER
a. Remove the 5 nuts, 4 clips and floor under cover.




3. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the wire harness from the 2 clamps.




b. Disconnect the 2 quick connectors, hose and connector.




c. Remove the 4 nuts, 2 spacers and charcoal canister assembly.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the charcoal canister assembly and 2 spacers and 4 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)




b. Connect the 2 quick connectors, hose and connector.




c. Connect the wire harness with the 2 clamps.




2. INSTALL FLOOR UNDER COVER
a. Install the floor under cover with the 4 clips and 5 nuts.

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization, Programming and Relearning.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
