Brake Warning Indicator: Service and Repair
SKID CONTROL BUZZERCOMPONENTS:
REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Be sure to read the PRECAUTION thoroughly before servicing.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
3. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH
4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL SUB ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the clip and skid control buzzer assembly.
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY
a. Apply battery negative voltage to terminal 1, and battery positive voltage to terminal 2 of the skid control buzzer, and then check that the buzzer sounds.
OK: Skid control buzzer sounds.
HINT: If the value is not as specified, replace the skid control buzzer.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the claw and install the skid control buzzer assembly.
b. Connect the skid control buzzer assembly connector.
2. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH
6. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery cable.
