Variable Valve Timing Actuator Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTIONNOTE: In this section, the terms "cold" and "hot" refer to the temperature of the coils. "Cold" means approximately -10 to 50 degrees C (14 to 122 degrees F). "Hot" means approximately 50 to 100 degrees C (122 to 212 degrees F).
1. INSPECT VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1)
a. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
b. Measure the resistance of the sensor.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
c. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
2. INSPECT VVT SENSOR (for Bank 2)
a. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
b. Measure the resistance of the sensor.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
c. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
