Rear No. 1 Upper Control Arm

REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR TIRE
2. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL NO. 2 SUPPORT PROTECTOR





3. SEPARATE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the rear stabilizer link assembly and the load sensing valve sensor bracket from the rear no.2 suspension arm.
b. Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the rear shock absorber with coil spring from the rear no.2 suspension arm assembly.

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM





a. Remove the bolts, nuts washers, and the rear no. 1 upper control arm from the rear axle carrier.

NOTICE: Push the axle carrier downward.





b. Remove the bolts, nuts washers, and the rear no. 1 upper control arm from the rear suspension member

INSTALLATION
1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM





a. Temporarily install the rear no. 1 upper control arm with the bolts, nuts and washers.





b. Temporarily install the rear no. 1 upper control arm with the bolts, nuts and washers.

NOTICE: Push the axle carrier downward.





2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Temporarily install the rear shock absorber with coil spring with the bolt and nut.
b. Temporarily install the rear stabilizer link assembly and the load sensing valve sensor bracket to the rear no.2 suspension arm assembly with the bolt and nut.





3. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
a. Jack up the axle carrier, with a wooden block placed between the jack and axle carrier, to apply load to the suspension so that the rear drive shaft assembly becomes level.

4. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM





a. Fully tighten the nut on the rear no. 1 upper control arm assembly.
Torque: 161 Nm (1,640 kgf-cm, 119 ft. lbs.)





b. Fully tighten the nut on the rear no. 1 upper control arm assembly.
Torque: 161 Nm (1,640 kgf-cm, 119 ft. lbs.)





5. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Fully tighten the bolt holding the rear shock absorber with coil spring.
Torque: 110 Nm (1,120 kgf-cm, 81 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

b. Full tighten the nut holding the rear stabilizer link assembly.
Torque: 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 20 ft. lbs.)

6. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL NO. 2 SUPPORT PROTECTOR
7. INSTALL REAR TIRE
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)

8. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
9. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIM ADJUSTMENT
10. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING
11. HEADLIGHT AIMING INSPECTION
12. HEADLIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT
