Front Suspension Lower Arm

FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM (for 2WD)

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT TIRE
2. SEPARATE SPEED SENSOR FRONT
3. SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY
4. SEPARATE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY





5. SEPARATE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Loosen the bolt while holding the nut. Separate the lower part of the front shock absorber from the front suspension lower arm.

NOTICE: Do not remove the bolt.

6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
8. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM





a. Support the front suspension crossmember with a transmission jack.

NOTICE: Be sure to place a wooden block between the front suspension crossmember and transmission jack.





b. Remove the 2 bolts from the front lower ball joint.





c. Loosen the installation nut of the lower arm No. 2 bracket sub-assembly.

NOTICE: Do not remove the nut.





d. Remove the bolt, washer and nut on the front of the front suspension lower arm.





e. Remove the 4 bolts, side rail plate and front suspension lower arm with the lower arm No-2 bracket sub-assembly.

9. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT





10. REMOVE LOWER ARM NO. 2 BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the nut, washer and lower arm No. 2 bracket sub-assembly from the front suspension lower arm.

11. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM




2. INSTALL LOWER ARM NO. 2 BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily tighten the lower arm No. 2 bracket subassembly to the front suspension lower arm with the nut and washer.

3. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT
4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM





a. Install the front suspension lower arm and side rail plate with the 4 bolts.
Torque:
Bolt 1 204 Nm (2,080 kgf-cm, 150 ft. lbs.)
Bolt 2 86 Nm (877 kgf-cm, 63 ft. lbs.)
Bolt 3 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft. lbs.)





b. Temporarily tighten the bolt, washer and nut.





c. Install the front lower ball joint with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 120 Nm (1,220 kgf-cm, 89 ft. lbs.)





5. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Insert the bolt from the rear of the vehicle, and install the front shock absorber lower side on the front suspension lower arm. Temporarily tighten the nut while holding the bolt.

6. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
7. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY
8. CONNECT SPEED SENSOR FRONT
9. CONNECT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY FRONT
10. STABILIZE SUSPENSION





11. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Fully tighten the bolt on the lower side of the front shock absorber while holding the nut.
Torque: 157 Nm (1,600 kgf-cm, 116 ft. lbs.)

12. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM





a. Fully tighten the bolt on the front of the front suspension lower arm.
Torque: 135 Nm (1,377 kgf-cm, 100 ft. lbs.)





b. Fully tighten the installation nut of the lower arm No. 2 bracket sub-assembly
Torque: 113 Nm (1,152 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.)

13. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER
14. INSTALL FRONT TIRE
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)

15. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
