Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

NOTE: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUBASSEMBLY

HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY".

3. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE NO.1 DUCT
4. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER NO.1 DUCT




5. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the instrument panel wire assembly from the front passenger airbag assembly.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.




b. Remove the 2 screws.




c. Disengage the 5 hooks (A).
d. Disengage the 5 hooks (B) and remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
a. Engage the 5 hooks (A).
b. Engage the 5 hooks (B) and install the front passenger airbag assembly on the instrument panel.




c. Install the 2 screws.




d. Connect the 2 connectors to the front passenger airbag assembly.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

2. INSTALL HEATER TO REGISTER NO.1 DUCT
3. INSTALL SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE NO.1 DUCT
4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUBASSEMBLY

HINT: Refer to the procedures from "INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY".

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
