Suspension Control Module: Service and Repair
ABSORBER CONTROL ECUCOMPONENTS:
REPLACEMENT
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2
4. REMOVE ABSORBER CONTROL ECU
a. Turn back the floor carpet to remove the absorber control ECU.
b. Disengage the 2 clamps to remove the wire harness from the vehicle body.
NOTICE: Do not apply an excessive force to the wire harness.
c. Disconnect the connectors from the absorber control ECU.
d. Remove the bolt, nut and the absorber control ECU.
5. INSTALL ABSORBER CONTROL ECU
a. Install the absorber control ECU with the bolt and nut.
Torque:
Bolt 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 inch lbs.)
Nut 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 inch lbs.)
NOTICE:
^ Avoid any impact to the absorber control ECU.
^ Do not drop the absorber control ECU. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
b. Connect the connectors to the absorber control ECU.
c. Engage the 2 clamps to install the wire harness to the vehicle body
d. Install the floor carpet.
6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUBASSEMBLY NO. 2
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.
