Parking Assist System - Initialization Procedure

Introduction

The DCC fuse is removed at the assembly plant to reduce parasitic current draw from the battery during transport and storage. As a result of the removal of the DCC fuse, the intuitive parking assist system will not operate correctly.

Perform the initial calibration of the intuitive parking assist system following the procedure in this bulletin after installing the DCC fuse or any time after disconnecting the battery.

NOTE:
Any time the battery terminal has been disconnected, the intuitive parking assist system must be re-initialized.

Applicable Vehicles

^ 2006 model year GS 300 and GS 430 vehicles.

^ 2007 model year GS 450h vehicles.

Initial Calibration Procedure

NOTE:
This procedure MUST be performed by 2 technicians.

^ Technician A checks the warning on the multi-information display and the touch screen in the vehicle.

^ Technician B blocks the sonar on the outside of the vehicle.

1. Without depressing the brake pedal, push the engine START/STOP switch twice to select the "IG-ON ENGINE OFF" mode.

2. Turn the steering wheel in the full lock position, and then turn the steering wheel in the opposite full lock position.

3. Monitor the multi-information display and touch screen to confirm that initial calibration has completed.

A. Technician A:

Push the park assist main switch in the switch box to turn the park assist ON. Then apply the parking brake and put the selector lever in the "N" position.





B. Technician B:

Stand approximately 10 in. (25.4 cm) from the left front clearance sonar sensor as shown.





C. Technician A:

Verify the warning screens below are NOT displayed with Technician B in position.

If the warnings are still displayed, repeat steps 1-3.

If the warnings are NOT displayed, the initial calibration is complete.
