Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
4. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (EVAP VSV)

a. Disconnect the connector and clamp.
b. Disconnect the 2 hoses.




c. Remove the VSV from the intake air connector.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (EVAP VSV)




a. Install the VSV to the intake air connector.
b. Connect the 2 hoses.
c. Connect the connector with the clamp.

2. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
3. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
