Secondary Injector Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET




a. Remove the bolt and air cleaner inlet.

4. REMOVE NO.1 ENGINE COVER




a. Disconnect the 4 connectors.
b. Remove the 3 clips and cover.

5. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER




a. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and injector driver.

NOTE: Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER

NOTE:
- Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.
- The injector driver is grounded at the bolt and nut. To ensure that it is grounded, clean all oil and foreign matter from the installation areas of the injector driver and engine before installing the injector driver.




a. Install the injector driver with the bolt and 2 nuts.

Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

2. INSTALL NO.1 ENGINE COVER




a. Install the cover with the 3 clips.
b. Connect the 4 connectors.

NOTE: Clip the connector securely.

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET




a. Install the air cleaner inlet with the bolt.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

a. Perform initialization

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
