Drive Belt: Service and Repair

DRIVE BELT

Components:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
2. REMOVE NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Remove the bolt and air cleaner inlet.

3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.





4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
a. While releasing the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, and remove the V belt from the belt tensioner.





b. While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, align with its holes, and then insert the 5 mm bi-hexagon wrench into the holes to fix the belt tensioner.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
a. Install the V belt.
b. While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, remove the bar.

NOTICE:
^ Put the backside of the V belt on the tensioner pulley and idler pulley.
^ Check that the drive belt is properly set to each pulley.





c. If it is difficult to install the V belt, perform the following procedure.
(1) Put the V belt on everything except the tensioner pulley as shown in the illustration.
(2) While releasing the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, put the V belt on the tensioner pulley

NOTICE:
^ Put the backside of the V belt on the tensioner pulley and idler pulley.
^ Check that the drive belt is properly set to each pulley.

2. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Install the air cleaner inlet No.1 with the bolt.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm 44 inch lbs.)

4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
