License Plate Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and switch from the luggage compartment door.

5. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the connector.




b. Remove the 2 screws and license plate light from luggage compartment door.

6. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH RETAINER SUBASSEMBLY




a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Remove the 2 clips and retainer from the luggage compartment door.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL BACK DOOR GARNISH RETAINER SUBASSEMBLY




a. Install the 2 clips and retainer to the luggage compartment door.
b. Install the 2 screws.

2. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY




a. Install the license plate light and 2 screws to the luggage compartment door.




b. Connect the connector.

3. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE
4. INSTALL LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY




a. Install the switch and 2 screws to luggage compartment door.
b. Connect the connector.

5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
