Title
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ACTIVATION DURING PDS

Component
GENERAL INFORMATION

Models
'06 GS300 and GS430

INTRODUCTION:
The tire pressure sensing transmitter is built in each tire valve, and the measured tire inflation pressure data is sent to the antenna and then to the receiver. The system is deactivated at the assembly plant during vehicle transportation.

Activate the tire pressure sensing transmitters to initialize the tire pressure warning system during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) according to this procedure.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2006 model year GS300 and GS430 vehicles.

ACTIVATION PROCEDURE:

1. Check that the tire selector switch is in the "MAIN" position.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and check that the tire pressure warning light blinks.

3. Rapidly reduce the tire pressure by 6.0 psi (40kPa, 0.4 kgf-cm2) or more within 30 seconds.
This operation is required for the system to be activated and must be performed for each tire, one at a time.
Check that the tire pressure warning light goes off, after all the tire pressure sensing transmitters are activated.

NOTE:
- If the tire inflation pressure is lower than approximately 26 psi (182.5 kPa, 1.9 kgf-cm2), the warning light comes on as a low pressure warning even after all the tire pressure sensing transmitters are activated.
- If the warning light does not go off after completion of step 3, increase the tire inflation pressure higher than approximately 30 psi (210 kPa, 2.1 kgf-cm2 ) and check that the warning light goes off after a few minutes.

4. Adjust all tires to the standard tire pressure as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information Label on vehicle.

NOTE:
The tire pressure must be checked COLD, meaning that the car must not have been driven at highway speeds for at least 3 hours.

5. Push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch for 3 seconds until the low tire pressure warning light blinks 3 times. Ensure the low tire pressure warning light goes off. When the low tire pressure warning light goes off, it is necessary to leave the ignition on for 20 minutes to allow the TPWS ECU to initialize with the current tire pressure.

NOTE:
It is necessary to wait 20 minutes until initialization completes correctly.
