Cigarette Lighter: Service and Repair

CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH
3. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY




4. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY
a. Rotate the socket body in the direction indicated by the arrow mark, and remove the socket body from the cigarette lighter.




b. Rotate the ring nut in the direction indicated by the arrow mark, and remove the cigarette lighter from the console panel.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY
a. Rotate the ring nut in the direction indicated by the arrow mark and install the cigarette lighter to the console panel.




b. Rotate the socket body in the direction indicated by the arrow mark, and install the socket body to the cigarette lighter.

2. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
