Removal & Installation

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
6. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
9. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
11. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
12. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the bolt and slide the hook connector.
b. Disconnect the suction pipe.
c. Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe.

NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

13. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A
a. Disconnect the liquid tube.
b. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube.

NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

14. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE A




a. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater water outlet hose.

15. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A

HINT: Disconnection of the heater water outlet hose is the same as for the heater water inlet hose.

16. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT
17. SET RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY TO SHIPMENT
18. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE RH
20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE LH
21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
23. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL NO. 2 COVER LOWER
24. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL NO. 3 COVER LOWER
25. REMOVE STEERING PAD
26. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
27. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER
28. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER UPPER
29. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING SENSOR
30. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
31. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
32. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH
33. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY
34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
36. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX PLATE
37. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY

47. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY
48. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
49. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU
50. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
51. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
52. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
53. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
54. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER
55. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
56. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT




a. Remove the 2 clips and console box duct.

57. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT




a. Remove the console box duct.

58. REMOVE DEFROSTER LOWER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY




a. Release the 4 claws and remove the nozzle.

59. DISCONNECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the clamp.
b. Remove the screw and ECU.

60. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY
a. Detach the 27 clamps and disconnect the connectors. Then disconnect the wire harness.




b. Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 junction blocks.
c. Remove the cap and bolt.




d. Remove the 6 bolts and 2 screws.
e. Using a T40 "torx" socket, remove the 5 "torx" bolts.

HINT: The "torx" bolts on the passenger side can be removed with the collar for adjustment.




f. Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 collars and instrument panel reinforcement.

61. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the nut and A/C unit.

62. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT




a. Remove the screw and duct.

63. REMOVE FOOT DUCT LOWER




a. Detach the 2 claws and remove the foot duct.

64. REMOVE FOOT DUCT UPPER




a. Detach the 2 claws and remove the foot duct.

65. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
66. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the screw.
c. Detach the 2 claws and remove the blower.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BLOWER ASSEMBLY




a. Install the blower with the 2 claws and screw.

Torque: 3.0 N.m (30 kgf.cm, 27 in.lbf)

b. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR DUCT




a. Install the duct with the screw.

4. INSTALL FOOT DUCT UPPER




a. Attach the 2 claws and install the foot duct.

5. INSTALL FOOT DUCT LOWER




a. Attach the 2 claws to install the foot duct.

6. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY




a. Install the A/C unit with the nut.

Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY
a. Driver side:




1. Using a T40 "torx" socket, install the instrument panel reinforcement with the 3 "torx" bolts.

Torque: 17 N.m (173 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

b. Passenger side:
1. Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, install the instrument panel reinforcement with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)

2. Using a T40 "torx" socket, install the instrument panel reinforcement with the 2 "torx" bolts.

Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)

c. Install the instrument panel reinforcement with the 6 bolts and 2 screws.

Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) for bolt A




d. Install the bolt and cap.
e. Connect the 2 connectors and attach the 27 clamps.




f. Install the 2 junction blocks with the 2 bolts and 3 nuts.

8. CONNECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY




a. Install the transponder key ECU with the screw.
b. Attach the clamp.

9. INSTALL DEFROSTER LOWER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY




a. Attach the 4 claws and install the defroster lower nozzle.

10. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT




a. Install the console box duct.

11. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT




a. Install the console box duct with the 2 clips.

12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
13. INSTALL MULTI-DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
14. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
15. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
16. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
17. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
18. INSTALL STEERING CONTROL ECU
19. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO.2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
20. INSTALL INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY
21. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO.1 SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
23. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO.1 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
24. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
25. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
26. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
27. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
28. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX
29. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
30. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY
31. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX PLATE

43. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL NO. 3 COVER LOWER
44. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL NO. 2 COVER LOWER
45. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
46. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
47. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
48. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
49. INSTALL HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A




a. Install the water hose and attach the clip.

50. INSTALL HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE A
a. Use the same procedures described for the water hose.

51. INSTALL LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A
a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the tube.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the liquid tube.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

c. Install the O-ring on the liquid tube.
d. Install the liquid tube to the fitting hole.

52. INSTALL SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the pipe.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the suction pipe.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

c. Install the O-ring on the suction pipe.
d. Move the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
e. Insert the pipe joints into the fitting holes securely and tighten the bolt.

Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

53. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
54. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
55. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
56. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
57. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
58. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
59. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
60. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
61. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
62. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
63. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
64. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
65. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
66. WARM UP ENGINE
67. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
68. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
69. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

70. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check SRS warning light.
