REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
2. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FORM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE
8. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARMAND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARMAND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
12. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
15. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash or otherwise remove it completely.
16. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
17. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
18. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET
19. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET
20. REMOVE RESERVOIR TUBE NO.1 HOSE
a. Remove the clip and reservoir tube No.1 hose.
21. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT
22. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER PANEL
23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
26. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER NO.1 SUB-ASSEMBLY
28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD NO.1 SUB-ASSEMBLY
29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY NO.1 LOWER
30. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
a. Remove the brake pedal return spring.
31. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
a. Remove the clip and the push rod pin, then separate the push rod clevis.
32. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY WITH SIMULATOR
a. Disconnect the connectors and clamp.
b. Remove the 4 nuts and brake master cylinder with simulator.
33. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET
a. Remove the gasket from the brake master cylinder assembly with simulator.
DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
a. Using SST, separate the brake stroke simulator tube from the brake stroke simulator cylinder sub assembly.

b. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 brake master cylinder gaskets, brake master cylinder bracket and brake stroke simulator bracket.
2. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR
a. Remove the screw and brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.
b. Remove the 2 master cylinder reservoir grommets
3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
a. Remove the push rod clevis and lock nut.
4. REMOVE BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Separate the connector from the brake stroke simulator bracket.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and the brake stroke simulator cylinder sub-assembly from the brake stroke simulator bracket.
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the brake stroke simulator cylinder to the brake simulator bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)
b. Install the connector to the brake stroke simulator bracket.
2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
a. Temporarily install brake master cylinder push rod clevis and the lock nut.
3. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR
a. Apply a thin layer of grease to 2 new master cylinder reservoir grommets and install them to the master cylinder assembly.
b. Install brake master cylinder reservoir with the screw.
4. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily install a new master cylinder gasket to the master cylinder assembly. Connect the brake stroke simulator cylinder tube to the brake stroke simulator cylinder sub-assembly and master cylinder assembly and loosely tighten the tube.
b. Install a new master cylinder gasket, master cylinder assembly and brake stroke simulator bracket to the master cylinder bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 12.5 Nm (128 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)
c. Use the SST to fully tighten the brake stroke simulator cylinder tube.

Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)
5. ADJUST BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET
a. Install anew gasket to the brake master cylinder assembly with brake simulator assembly.
2. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WITH SIMULATOR CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the brake master cylinder assembly with brake simulator assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 12.7 Nm (128 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)
b. Connect the connectors and clamp.
3. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
a. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the push rod pin.
b. Install the push rod clevis to the brake pedal support assembly with the push rod pin and a new clip.
4. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
a. Install the brake return spring.
5. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL RESERVOIR TUBE NO.1 HOSE
a. Install the reservoir tube hose No.1with the clip.
7. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET
a. Install the skid control ECU bracket with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
8. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
9. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
10. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL
11. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
12. BLEED BRAKE RESERVOIR TUBE NO.1 HOSE
13. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER
14. BLEED FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM
15. BLEED REAR BRAKE SYSTEM
16. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR ZERO DOWN
17. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
18. REMOVE CLEAR DTC
19. PERFORM LINER VALVE OFFSET LEARNING
20. INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT
21. INSPECT PEDAL FREE PLAY
22. INSPECT PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE
23. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
24. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY NO.1 LOWER
25. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUBASSEMBLY
26. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUBASSEMBLY NO.1
27. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
28. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
29. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
30. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
31. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
32. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT
33. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
34. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUBASSEMBLY
35. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
36. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
37. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
38. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
39. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
40. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
41. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE
42. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
43. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
44. INSPECT VSC SENSOR SIGNAL
45. INSPECT ACTUATOR WITH INTELLIGENT TESTER
46. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
47. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
