ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY OPERATION
a. Pre-check preparation
(1) Move the shift lever to the P position. Apply the parking brake and connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(3) Turn on the intelligent tester. Select WAS CYL PRS1, WAS CYL PRS2, FR PRESS SENS, FL PRESS SENS and RL PRESS SENS
b. Check FR system solenoid (SLA**, SLR**, SMC1, SMC2)
(1) Select SLAFR CUR. -> Enter and check the output voltage.
NOTICE: Do not depress the brake pedal.
HINT:
^ It takes approximately 35 seconds to complete the check.
^ If incorrect, troubleshoot the brake system.
Standard Voltage:
c. Check FL system solenoid (SLA**, SLR**, SMC1, SMC2)
(1) Select SLAFL CUR. -> Enter and check the output voltage.
NOTICE: Do not depress the brake pedal.
HINT:
^ It takes approximately 35 seconds to complete the check.
^ If incorrect, troubleshoot the brake system.
Standard Voltage:
d. Check RR system solenoid (SLA**, SLR**, SMC1, SMC2)
(1) Select SLARR CUR. -> Enter and check the output voltage.
NOTICE: Do not depress the brake pedal.
HINT:
^ It takes approximately 35 seconds to complete the check.
^ If incorrect, troubleshoot the brake system.
Standard Voltage:
e. Check RL system solenoid (SLA**, SLR**, SMC1, SMC2)
(1) Select SLAFL CUR. -> Enter and check the output voltage.
NOTICE: Do not depress the brake pedal.
HINT:
^ It takes approximately 35 seconds to complete the check.
^ If incorrect, troubleshoot the brake system.
Standard Voltage:
f. Check SMC1, SMC2
(1) Select and enter ECB INVALID to prohibit the brake control (ECB) on the intelligent tester menu screen.
(2) Check that the ECB warning light comes on.
(3) Check the output voltage by depressing the pedal. Standard: Difference in the output voltage between MAS CYL PRS 1 and FR PRESS SENS is less than 0.4 V. Difference in output voltage between MAS CYL PRS 2 and FL PRESS SENS is less than 0.4 V.
(4) Enter the return key on the intelligent tester and cancel brake control prohibition (ECB INVALID).
2. INSPECT PRESSURE SENSOR OPERATION
a. Check battery voltage
Standard voltage: 10 to 14 V (during engine stop)
b. Connect the hydro booster pressure gauge and pedal effort gauge.
(1) Install hydro LSPV gauge (SST) and brake pedal effort gauge.

(2) Bleed the air from the hydro booster pressure gauge.
(3) Move the shift lever to the P position. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 with the parking brake applied.
(4) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(5) Clear the DTC.
c. Check wheel cylinder pressure sensor and master pressure sensor.
(1) Turn on the intelligent tester. Select WAS CYL PRS 1, WAS CYL PRS 2, FR PRESS SENS, FL PRESS SENS and RR PRESS SENS, RL PRES SENS into the date monitor.
(2) Check the brake pedal effort gauge, hydro booster pressure gauge reading, and output pressure voltage.
If incorrect, troubleshoot the brake system.

d. Check accumulator (ACC) pressure sensor
(1) Move the shift lever to the P position. Apply the parking brake and connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(3) Turn on the intelligent tester. Select and enter the accumulator (ACC) pressure sensor 1 (ACC PRESS SENS) into the date monitor.
(4) Temporarily operate the pump motor by depressing the brake pedal 4 or 5 times.
(5) After confirming that the pump motor stops, check the pressure output voltage.
Standard Voltage: 2.6 to 3.8 V
If incorrect, troubleshoot the brake system.
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL LH
5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL RH
6. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARMAND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARMAND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
10. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE ZERO DOWN
12. BRAKE CONTROL OFF
NOTICE:
^ Prohibit the brake control (ECB) certainly before air bleeding.
^ Be sure to remove the 2 ABS motor relays first, then the brake actuator.
a. With the engine switch off to prohibit brake control, remove the 2 ABS motor relays.
NOTICE: If the pump motor operates with air remaining inside the brake actuator hose, the air will enter the actuator and cause resulting in difficulty in air bleeding.
13. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
14. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash or otherwise remove it completely.
15. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
16. SEPARATE ENGINE ROOM RELAY NO.3 BLOCK
a. Separate the engine room relay No.3 block.
17. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH
18. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET
a. Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the actuator assembly with bracket.

b. Remove the clip and reservoir tube No.1 hose.
c. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.
d. Using SST, disconnect the brake No.1 and No.2 tube.
NOTICE: Do not damage the brake No.1 and No.2 tube.
e. Release the lock lever and disconnect the actuator connector.
f. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and brake actuator assembly with bracket.
NOTICE: Do not damage the brake tubes.
DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts and brake actuator assembly from the actuator bracket.
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the actuator assembly to the actuator bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
NOTICE: Do not remove the hole plug before connecting the brake tube because a new brake actuator assembly is filled with brake fluid.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET
a. Install the actuator assembly with bracket to the body with the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Do not damage the brake tubes.
b. Connect the actuator connector.
NOTICE: Make sure that the connector is locked securely.
c. Using SST, connect the brake No.1 and No.2 tube.
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Do not damage the brake No.1 and No.2 tube.
d. Using SST, connect each brake tube to the correct positions of the actuator assembly with bracket as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)
e. Connect reservoir No.1 tube with the clip.
2. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM RELAY NO.3 BLOCK
a. Install the engine room relay No.3 block.
4. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. BLEED DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL
7. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
8. BLEED BRAKE RESERVOIR TUBE NO.1 HOSE
9. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER
10. BLEED FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM
11. BLEED REAR BRAKE SYSTEM
12. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR ZERO DOWN
13. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
14. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
15. PREFORM LINER VALVE OFFSET LEARNING
16. CLEAR DTC
17. PREFORM INITIALIZATION
Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
18. ACTIVE TEST

DISPOSAL
1. DISPOSE OF BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a drill, slowly make a hole at the circumference made by the center points of A and discharge the gas.
NOTICE:
Be sure to wear protective glasses as fragments may fly out due to pressure.
HINT:
^ The hole may be drilled up to approximately 5 mm to 10 mm away from the point indicated by A without problem.
^ The gas is nitrogen, which is colorless, odorless, and harmless.
