REMOVAL
HINT: When removing the spoiler, heat the vehicle body and spoiler using a heat light.
NOTE: Do not heat the vehicle body and spoiler excessively.
1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSIST GRIP
2. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL
3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
4. REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
b. Remove the 4 nuts.
c. Put protective tape around the spoiler.
d. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and spoiler.
e. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
f. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the spoiler to the vehicle body.
NOTE:
- If reusing the spoiler, take care not to damage the spoiler,
- Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- When installing the spoiler, heat the vehicle body and spoiler using a heat light.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
NOTE: Do not heat the body and spoiler excessively.
1. INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Clean the vehicle body surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
b. If reusing the spoiler:
Clean the spoiler.
1. Using a heat light, heat the spoiler.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the spoiler.
3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
4. Apply new double-sided tape to the spoiler.
c. Install the spoiler.
1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and spoiler.
2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the spoiler.
HINT: After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
3. Install the spoiler with the 4 nuts and clip.
