INTRODUCTION:
Customers may complain that the left rear door does not open on the first pull. Improvements to the internal latch mechanism have been made to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2006 model year GS300 and GS430 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:






Replace the left rear door latch assembly.

1. Remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the bezel plug.

NOTE:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use


2. Remove a screw behind the bezel plug.






3. Remove the rear door trim panel assembly.
Detach the 2 claws and trim lower cover.
Remove a screw behind the trim lower cover.






4. Remove the rear door with motor lock assembly.
A. Disconnect the connector.
B. Using a T30 torx socket, remove the 3 screws and door lock.

5. Reassemble in the reverse order.

(Door with motor lock assembly x Door panel. Torque = 5.5Nm)
