Rear Seat Belt Replacement
Rear Seat Belt:
REPLACEMENT
HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHER STRIP LH
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHER STRIP RH
5. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH
6. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH
7. REMOVE CENTER STOP LAMP ASSEMBLY (W/O SUN SHADE)
8. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR COVER
9. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT COVER
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 12 claws and remove the 3 rear seat shoulder belt covers.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
10. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/O SUN SHADE)
a. Remove the 3 bolts and release the floor anchors of the seat belts.
b. Disengage the 6 claws and 2 clips and remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
11. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/SUN SHADE)
a. Remove the 3 bolts and release the floor anchors of the seat belts.
b. Disengage the 2 clips and pull out the belt to remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
12. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER
NOTE:
- Removal operation of the seat belt with pretensioner must be started in 90 seconds or more after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the battery negative terminal is disconnected.
- Carefully read the notices for the "pretensioner" in the SRS airbag system and the front seat outer belt assembly.
a. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly outer RH.
c. Push down the locking plate to release the lock.
d. Disconnect the connector.
e. Disengage the clamp and remove the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly outer.
13. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER
HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
14. REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
a. Remove the bolt holding the retractor, and disengage the claws of the stopper to remove the rear seat inner w/center belt assembly RH.
15. REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the bolt, and remove the rear seat inner w/center belt assembly LH.
16. INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the rear seat inner w/ center belt assembly LH with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Ensure that the anchor does not run into any protrusions on the floor panel.
17. INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
a. Check the degree of tilt when the ELR begins to lock.
1. Check that the belt does not lock at less than 15 degrees of tilt in any direction but locks at over 45 degrees of tilt when gently moving the installed retractor.
b. Install the retractor of the rear seat inner w/ center belt assembly RH with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
c. Check the ELR lock.
1. Check that the belt locks when pulled out quickly.
d. Check the fastening function for the child restraint system.
NOTE: Check should be done with the assembly installed.
1. Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more but can be rewound after being fully pulled out.
2. Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound after being fully rewound.
18. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER
a. Check the degree of tilt when the ELR begins to lock.
1. Check that the belt does not lock at less than 15 degrees of tilt in any direction but locks at over 45 degrees of tilt when gently moving the installed retractor.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.
b. Connect the connector and raise the locking plate.
NOTE: Ensure that the locking button is completely raised to securely lock the connector.
c. Install the clamp.
d. Temporarily tighten the 2 bolts on the retractor of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly outer RH.
e. Fully tighten the bolt on the rear side of the vehicle and then the bolt on the front side of the vehicle.
Torque:
7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) (Bolt on the front side of the vehicle)
42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) (Bolt on the rear side of the vehicle)
19. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER
HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
20. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/O SUN SHADE)
a. Engage the 6 claws and 2 clips to install the package tray trim panel assembly.
b. Install the floor anchor of the rear seat inner w/ center belt assembly RH with the bolt facing the arrow mark on the plate toward the front of the vehicle.
Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Ensure that the anchor does not run into any protrusions on the floor panel.
c. Check the ELR lock.
1. Check that the belt locks when pulled out quickly.
d. Install the anchor of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly outer RH with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Ensure that the anchor does not run into any protrusions on the floor panel.
HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
e. Check the degree of tilt when the ELR begins to lock.
1. Check in the same way as the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH.
f. Check the ELR lock.
1. Check that the belt locks when pulled out quickly.
g. Check the fastening function for the child restraint system.
1. Check in the same way as the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH.
21. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/SUN SHADE)
a. Engage the 2 clips to install the package tray trim panel assembly.
b. Install the floor anchor of the rear seat inner w/ center belt assembly RH with the bolt facing the arrow mark on the plate toward the front of the vehicle.
Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Ensure that the anchor does not run into any protrusions on the floor panel.
c. Check the ELR lock.
1. Check that the belt locks when pulled out quickly.
d. Install the anchor of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly outer RH with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Ensure that the anchor does not run into any protrusions on the floor panel.
HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
e. Check the degree of tilt when the ELR begins to lock.
1. Check in the same way as the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH.
f. Check the ELR lock.
