Front Seat Assembly LH

OVERHAUL

CAUTION:
- Always wear safety gloves because the edges of the seat back frame and seat adjuster are sharp and may cause injury.
- Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
(The SRS is equipped with a backup power source. If work is started within 90 seconds after disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.)
- The yaw rate sensor is installed under the front seat RH.
- Be careful not to step on the yaw rate sensor after the seat has been removed.

HINT:
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal. However, special points concerning installation are indicated.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- When removing/installing or overhauling the passenger seat, check the passenger occupant classification system and perform 0 point calibration.

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY




3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER FRONT LH
a. Move the front LH seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
b. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the seat track bracket cover outer front LH.

4. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER FRONT LH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER LH REAR INNER
a. Move the front LH seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat track cover LH rear inner.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER RH REAR OUTER

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




7. REMOVE FRONT LH SEAT ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the battery negative terminal.
b. Set the front vertical in the most upright position.
c. Move the front LH seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
d. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side.
e. Move the front LH seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
f. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side.
g. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
h. Disconnect the connectors and clamp.
i. Remove the front LH seat assembly.

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH




a. Disconnect the 2 clips and the cover.




b. Driver's seat only:
1. Disengage the 5 clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

c. Passenger's seat only:
1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.




d. Remove the nut and the front seat inner belt assembly LH.




9. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the reclining power seat switch knob.

HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.




10. REMOVE SLIDE & VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.

HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER NO.1 LH




a. Remove the 5 screws.
b. Driver's seat only:
1. Disconnect the power seat switch assembly connector.

c. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front seat cushion shield inner No.1 LH and front seat cushion shield LH as a unit.




d. Remove the screw.
e. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front seat cushion shield inner No.1 LH.




12. REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
a. Remove the 2 screws and the power seat switch assembly.




13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Disengage the 3 claws and clip and remove the front seat cushion shield inner LH.




14. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 screws and the front power seat switch LH.




15. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER W/PAD
a. w/ Seat heater:
1. Disconnect the connector.

b. Disengage the 2 clamps and 6 hooks.




c. Disengage the hooks and remove the seat cushion cover with pad.




16. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Remove the 8 hog rings and the separate type front seat cushion cover.




17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER)
a. Detach the 32 tack pins and remove the front seat cushion heater assembly LH.




18. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat back board sub-assembly LH.




19. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support (LH side).

20. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

21. REMOVE SEAT BACK COVER W/PAD




a. Disengage the hooks and remove the cover.




b. Disengage the 5 hog rings and the 12 hooks.




c. Remove the nut and disconnect the separate type front seat back cover bracket.




d. Disengage the clamp and remove the seat back cover with pad.




22. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER
a. Remove the 8 hog rings and the separate type front seat back cover.




23. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (W/SEAT HEATER)
a. Detach the 6 tack pins and remove the front seat back heater assembly LH.




24. REMOVE LH SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
a. Remove the 2 screws and the LH seat reclining adjuster inside cover (lower).




25. REMOVE LH SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER
a. Disengage the clamp.
b. Remove the 2 screws and the LH seat reclining adjuster inside cover (lower).




26. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
a. Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster inside cover LH (upper).

27. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




28. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH
a. Remove the screw and the front seat cushion shield lower LH.

29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

30. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER RH (W/SEAT VENTILATION/HEATING SYSTEM)
a. Disconnect the connector.




b. Driver's seat only:
1. Disengage the 4 clamps.
2. Remove the 6 screws, seat back climate control cover and seat climate control blower RH.




c. Passenger's seat only:
1. Disengage the 2 clamps.
2. Remove the 6 screws, seat back climate control cover and seat climate control blower RH.




31. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH.

32. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT (W/ SEAT VENTILATION/HEATING SYSTEM)




a. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the seat cushion climate control duct.




b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the seat cushion climate control duct.




33. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER RH (W/SEAT VENTILATION/HEATING SYSTEM)
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the screw and the seat climate control blower RH.

34. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIR BAG SENSOR (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
35. REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY)
36. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH
37. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIR BAG SENSOR (DRIVER SEAT ONLY)




38. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER)
a. Set the front seat back heater assembly LH to the separate type front seat back cover.
b. Install the front seat back heater assembly LH with 6 new tack pins.

NOTE: Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.




39. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER




a. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat back cover with 8 new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

40. INSTALL SEAT BACK COVER W/PAD




a. Install the seat back cover with pad with the clamp.




b. Install the separate type front seat back cover bracket with the nut.

Torque: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)








c. Using hog ring pliers, Install 5 new hog rings and 12 hooks.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.




d. Engage the hooks and install the cover.




41. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER)
a. Set the front seat cushion heater assembly LH to the separate type front seat cushion cover.
b. Install the front seat cushion heater assembly LH with 32 new tack pins.

NOTE: Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.




42. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER




a. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover with 8 new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

43. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH




a. Install the front seat inner belt assembly LH with the nut.

Torque: 42 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)




b. Driver's seat only:
1. Connect the 3 connectors and install the 5 clamps.

c. Passenger's seat only:
1. Connect the 2 connectors and install the clamp.




d. Connect the 2 clips and install the cover.




44. INSTALL FRONT LH SEAT ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Move the front LH seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
c. Tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the front LH seat assembly.

Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

d. Move the front LH seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide & vertical power seat switch knob.
e. Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front LH seat assembly.

Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

45. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
46. INSPECT FUNCTION OF POWER SEAT OPERATION
47. CHECK SEAT HEATER OPERATION (W/ SEAT HEATER)
48. INITIALIZE FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY)
49. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
