Front Suspension
REPLACEMENT
HINT: The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
1. REMOVE WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 10 bolts and front wheel.
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
a. Remove the 5 nuts and wheel.
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
4. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the stabilizer link.
b. Remove the nut and stabilizer link from the lower arm.
5. INSPECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. As shown in the illustration, move the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times before installing the nut.
b. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn and take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Turning torque: 0.05 to 1.5 Nm (0.5 to 15 kgf-cm, 0.4 to 13 inch lbs.)
c. Check for any cracks or grease leaks on the ball joint dust cover.
6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR
a. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 stabilizer bar brackets and stabilizer bar.
b. Remove the 2 bushes from the stabilizer bar.
7. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR
a. Install the 2 bushes to the stabilizer bar.
b. Install the stabilizer bar and 2 stabilizer bar brackets with the 4 bolts.
8. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
9. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the stabilizer link to the lower arm with the nut.
Torque: 113 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the stabilizer link with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 51 Nm (520 kgf-cm, 38 ft. lbs.)
10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
a. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
11. INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the wheel hub ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
