Front Suspension Lower Arm Assy
REPLACEMENT
HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed are for the LH side.
^ A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. REMOVE WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 10 bolts and ornament.
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
a. Remove the 5 nuts and wheel.
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
4. LOOSEN FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH
a. Loosen the 2 bolts.
NOTICE: Do not remove the bolts.
5. DISCONNECT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY FRONT LH
a. Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the shock absorber from the shock absorber bracket.
b. Remove the nut and disconnect the height control sensor link from the shock absorber bracket.
6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the stabilizer link from the stabilizer bar.
b. Remove the nut and stabilizer link.
7. DISCONNECT RACK & PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and steering rack housing bracket No. 2.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the steering gear assembly.
8. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the cotter pin and nut.
b. Using SST, disconnect the lower arm from the lower ball joint.

c. Remove the bolt and shock absorber bracket from the lower arm assembly.
d. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the lower arm from the suspension lower arm No. 2.
e. Place matchmarks on the camber adjusting cam No. 2 and suspension cross member.
f. Remove the nut, camber adjusting cam No. 2, camber adjusting cam No. 1 and lower suspension arm.
9. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the shock absorber bracket to the suspension lower arm with the bolt.
Torque: 59 Nm (600 kgf-cm, 44 ft. lbs.)
b. Temporarily install the lower arm.
1. Install the camber adjust cam No. 1 and camber adjust cam No. 2 with the nut, but only loosely install the nut.
2. Align the matchmarks on the camber adjust cam No. 1 and camber adjust cam No. 2. Then temporarily tighten the bolt.
HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nut.
c. Temporarily install the lower arm to the lower ball joint with the nut.
HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nut.
d. Temporarily install the 2 bolts to the lower arm.
HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the bolts.
10. CONNECT RACK & PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the steering gear with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the steering rack housing bracket No. 2 with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)
11. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 51 Nm (520 kgf-cm, 38 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the stabilizer link with the nut.
Torque: 113 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.)
12. TEMPORARILY INSTALL SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY FRONT LH
a. Temporarily install the shock absorber to the shock absorber bracket with the bolt and nut.
b. Install the height control sensor link to the shock absorber bracket with the nut.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
13. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
a. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
14. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
15. TIGHTEN FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH
a. Tighten the 2 camber adjusting cams and 2 nuts.
Torque: 172 Nm (1,755 kgf-cm, 127 ft. lbs.)
b. Tighten the 2 bolts and nut, and install a new cotter pin to the ball joint.
Torque:
162 Nm (1,650 kgf-cm, 119 ft. lbs.) for nut labeled A
164 Nm (1,690 kgf-cm, 121 ft. lbs.) for bolt labeled B
16. TIGHTEN SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY FRONT LH
17. INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
18. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
19. ADJUST HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY FRONT LH
