Front Seat Belt

Front Seat Belt:






REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the front seat assembly.
b. Remove the front seat cushion inner shield.
c. Remove the nut and front seat inner belt.

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER
5. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
10. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY FRONT LH




a. Remove the anchor's built-in bolt from the main floor side member.
b. Using a screwdriver, pry out the front seat belt hole cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




c. Remove the 6 screws and clip.
d. Using a screwdriver, pry out the quarter trim panel.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the anchor's built-in bolt from the center body pillar inner.
b. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and outer belt.




12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

a. Before installing the ELR, check the ELR.
1. When the inclination of the retractor is 15° or less, check that the belt can be pulled from the retractor. When the inclination of the retractor is over 45°, check that the belt locks.
If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assembly.

b. Install the retractor with the 2 bolts.

Torque:
7.5 N.m (77 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) for upper side
42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for lower side

c. Install the seat belt anchor's built-in bolt to the center body pillar inner.

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

d. Install the seat belt anchor's built-in bolt to the main floor side member.

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

e. After installing the ELR, check the ELR.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt installed.

1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assembly.

13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
15. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
