Component Tests

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT SECURITY HORN ASSY




a. Check operation of the horn.




If the result is not as specified, replace the horn.

2. INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSY




a. Measure the resistance of the switch.




If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

3. INSPECT ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH




a. Measure the resistance of the switch.




If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

4. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY




a. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the indicator, and check the lighting condition of the security indicator.

NOTE:
- If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the security indicator does not illuminate.
- A voltage of more than 12 V will damage the security indicator.
- If the voltage is too low, the security indicator will not illuminate.




If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.
