Seat Belt Control Module: Service and Repair

SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU (From January, 2004)

REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
3. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH
5. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
7. REMOVE SIDE TRIM TOOL BAG COVER
8. REMOVE TOOL CASE
9. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH




10. REMOVE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 nuts and ECU.




11. INSTALL SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
a. Install the ECU with the 3 nuts.

Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

b. Connect the connector.

12. CONNECT BATTERY TERMINAL






NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the system shown in the table after the terminal is reconnected.
