TSB REVISION NOTICE:
- August 29, 2007: T1 code has been change under Warranty Information.
The previous TSB should be discarded.
INTRODUCTION:
Some 2005 -- 2006 LS430 owners may experience a condition where the dynamic radar cruise control is inoperative, with "Check PCS" called out on the multi information display. DTCs B2056 and P1572 may also be stored. An updated distance control computer has been made available to correct this issue.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2005 - 2006 model year LS 430 vehicles equipped with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (--) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (--) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. Remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
A. Detach the 4 clips and 2 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.
B. Disconnect the connector.
3. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel garnish RH.
NOTE:
Use a screwdriver if a moulding remover is NOT available. Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. Remove the glove compartment plate.
5. Remove the glove compartment hole cover by detaching the 6 claws.
6. Remove the glove compartment door assembly.
A. Remove the 3 bolts and 3 screws.
B. Detach the clip and remove the glove compartment door.
C. Disconnect the connectors.
7. Remove the distance control ECU.
A. Disconnect the ECU connector.
B. Remove the nut and distance control ECU.
8. Install the NEW distance control ECU.
A. Install the distance control ECU (Distance Control ECU) with the nut.
Torque: 5.5 N-m (56 kgf-cm, 49 ft-lbf)
B. Connect the ECU connector.
9. Install the glove compartment door assembly.
A. Connect the connectors.
B. Attach the clip to install the glove compartment door.
C. Install the 3 bolts and 3 screws.
10. Install the glove compartment hole cover by attaching the 6 claws.
11. Install the glove compartment plate.
12. Install the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly RH by attaching the 4 clips.
13. Install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
A. Connect the connector.
B. Attach the 4 clips and 2 claws to install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.
14. Connect the cable to the negative (--) battery terminal.
15. Initialize the distance control ECU.
NOTE:
Be sure to perform the following steps after replacing the distance control ECU.
A. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
B. Push the cruise main switch ON-OFF button ON.
C. With the brake pedal depressed, push the cruise main switch to RESUME 3 times within 3 seconds. Check that the VSC buzzer sounds at this time.
Do NOT turn the headlight switch ON at this time because the optical axis automatic adjustment mode has already started, which could lead to incorrect optical axis adjustment.
16. Re-initialize any affected power systems.
17. Road test to confirm repair.
