INTRODUCTION:
Some 2004 - 2005 model year LS430 vehicles may experience a condition, where all of the following systems are inoperative due to a driver's/passenger's Multiplex Network Door Computer communication failure:
- The following functions will be inoperative for the door with the affected computer:
- Smart Key entry
- Auto Window Operation Inop (Manual window will operate)
- Power door lock
- Power mirror
- Seat memory
- The affected door ECU will not communicate with the scan tool.
- B1211 or B1212 (Door ECU communication stop) will be stored in the Body ECU.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 - 2005 model year LS430 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

PARTS IDENTIFICATION METHOD:
Countermeasure service parts are identified by the 4-digit date code printed on the bottom of the front door multiplex network computer. Date code is 3 B4D or later.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Refer to ETAS: 2004 - 2005 model year LS 430 Repair Manual: Engine Hood/door: Front Door: Overhaul (LS 430) for the repair procedure.
- Complete steps 1-8 to replace the ECU.
- Reverse the steps for installation.
