Pre-Collision Safety System

PRECAUTION

NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system(s) after the terminal is reconnected.
- Front Power Seat Control System

Initialize Front Power Seat Control System
a. The power seat ECU must be initialized under any of the following conditions.
- The battery is disconnected.
- The D/C cut fuse is replaced.
- The power seat switch (power seat ECU) is replaced.
- The power seat assembly is removed from the vehicle.

b. Initialize the power seat ECU as follows.
1. Using the seat switches, fully slide the seat forward, fully recline the seatback forward, and fully raise the seat cushion and headrest.
2. Using the seat switches, fully slide the seat rearward, fully recline the seatback rearward, and fully lower the seat cushion and headrest.


1. TROUBLESHOOTING PRECAUTIONS
a. When there is a malfunction with terminal contact points or part installation problems, removal and installation of the suspected problem parts may return the system, either completely or temporarily, to the normal condition.
b. Be sure to check the conditions at the time the malfunction occurred, such as DTC output, in order to determine the malfunctioning area. Record these conditions before disconnecting connectors or removing and installing parts.
c. Be sure to check for DTCs in other systems, as the system may be influenced by malfunctions in systems other than the pre-collision safety system.

2. HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
a. Remove the install each ECU, sensor etc. with the ignition switch in the LOCK position unless otherwise specified in the inspection procedure.
b. Check DTC output and confirm that a normal condition code is output after removing and installing ECUs, sensors, etc.
