Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Service and Repair
TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH
REPLACEMENT
HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH
a. Remove the bolt and separate the speed sensor wire harness.
b. Remove the toe control link sub-assy RH lock nut.
c. Using SST, separate the toe control link sub-assy RH from the rear axle carrier.

d. Place matchmarks on the camber adjust cam and rear suspension member.
e. Remove the nut, camber adjust cam, camber adjust cam bolt and toe control link sub-assy RH.
3. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH
a. Before installing the nut, flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a torque wrench, continuously turn the nut 3 to 5 seconds per turn, and take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 0.9 to 3.2 Nm (9.0 to 33.0 kgf-cm, 8.0 to 28.3 inch lbs.)
If there is any abnormality, replace the toe control link sub-assy RH with a new one.
4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH
a. Install the toe control link sub-assy RH vehicle side.
b. Align the matchmarks on the camber adjust cam and rear suspension.
c. Temporarily tighten the camber adjust bolt with the nut.
d. Install the toe control link sub-assy RH rear axle carrier side with the lock nut.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft. lbs.)
e. Install the speed sensor wire harness with the bolt.
5. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
6. FULLY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH
a. Align the matchmarks on the camber adjust cam and rear suspension.
b. Fully tighten the nut.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft. lbs.)
7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
8. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
