WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM RH
a. Stop the front wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.
b. Remove the nut to remove the front wiper arm RH.
2. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM LH
a. Remove the nut to remove the front wiper arm LH.
3. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 clips.
b. Remove the 5 claws.
c. Remove the 8 claws to remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 4 bolts and windshield wiper link assembly.
5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the meshing of rod at the clank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.
b. Remove the nut and washer.
c. Place the matchmarks on the clank arm assembly and windshield wiper motor assembly.
d. Remove the 3 bolts and windshield wiper motor assembly from the windshield wiper link assembly.
6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Apply MP grease to the clank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.
b. Install the windshield wiper motor assembly.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
c. Align the matchmarks on the clank arm assembly and windshield wiper motor assembly, then install the washer and nut.
Torque: 17.2 N.m (175 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
7. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the windshield wiper link assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector.
8. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM LH
a. Clean the wiper pivot serration with the wire brush
b. Fix the front wiper arm driver side with a nut in the way that the front wiper blade on the position shown in the illustration.
Torque: 22 N.m (220 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)
9. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM RH
a. Clean the wiper pivot serration with the with brush.
b. Fix the front wiper arm passenger side with a nut in the way that the front wiper blade on the position shown in the illustration.
Torque: 22 N.m (220 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)
c. Operate the wiper while running the water or the washer fluid over the window, and check the wiping condition and that the wiper does not hit against the vehicle body.
